So you just absolutely just have to know more about me and what I've been up to... Well, here's the spot for you! All the news that has gone by the wayside and cluttered up my front page has been relocated to here. Enjoy!

In case you hadn't heard, yes I was in the OKC Arts Festival. Got called in on the Friday before, ended up having a good time! Met some good people, sold some art, ate some festival food, people watched, and got some exposure (luckily not too much sun exposure, managed to not be sunburned!).
So that's all over with.
Now is for the time to get back to work and try to line up some shows! As you can see, there's not too much on the horizon, other than entering some juried shows that I don't know if I'm in yet. So check back later or drop me a line and I'll let you know what's up as soon as I know.

Well, got back the notification from Arts Council yesterday. And I'm an alternate for the Festival of the Arts. What's that mean? It means that if an artist in my category backs out, and the alternates ahead of me in line can't do the show, then I'm in! So still don't know if I'll be in the festival, but the chances don't seem too bad. All the alternates ahead of me in line are from out of state, so there's a good chance that as Festival draws closer, if someone drops out - the others won't want to make the trip on such short notice. So that's that.
Oh, and I have work hanging at Deep Fork in OKC right now. Stop in and check it out!

12x12 was a smashing sucess! Just beginning the process of planning the Momentum event... more info to come.
As you can see, I have a few fundraisers coming up that I am a part of... RED DOT coming up in a couple weeks, it's gonna be cool! Art silent auction, and possibly the first auctioning for a commission work by select artists!! Stop on by and get you some art!
Oh, and I applied for the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts, which is in April... should find out whether I was accepted in about a month, so more to follow on that. Starting to get a little busy, which is good. Check out the gallery, there are new pieces going in all the time as they are completed...

Got my 12x12 piece done... check it out in the gallery. Should be the last one. Don't know what 12x12 is? Click the link above and see... it is OVAC's largest fundraiser, and a swell party! Food, fun, over 150 feet of art... what else do you need?

Well, I am now a member of Sonarta's online group of artists... They have posted up tons of videos of local artists talking about their work and their process, there's a couple of me up there... give it a look-see if you've got the time.
Other than that, things are pretty slow right now... being a bit of slacker. But I plan to get up off my butt soon and get to it and try to get some out of state shows. So if you know of any good places, hit me up! Thanks.

Ok, so I've updated a few things and added a second set of images in the gallery section. It seems to have gotten a bit unwieldly with 80+ images, so I added a second gallery with just installation views. Go check it out!

So, I'm making reproductions of my Chuck Norris painting. I already have to make one to replace the original painting when I ship it off to be given to Mr. Norris himself. And I figured, since the painting was awesomeness itself, other people might like to have a print. I know I'd kind of like to have one.
So here's the deal. The prints will be 18" x 27", signed and numbered, for $65 each.
It's number 56 in the gallery, if you'd like to take a gander...
Hit me up, if you are interested: trent@trentlawson.net

Ok, so info about the Lazy Frog Co... doors will open on Sept. 2, 12pm... with cookies!! Go to www.myspace.com/thelazyfrogcompany for more details. They sell all kind of handmade clothing and accessories and knick-knacks, lots of stuff. And yes, on Sept. 16, 6pm is the Grand Opening reception, gummy bears will be available! So stop by and have a look-see.
And on another note... I finished my Chuck Norris painting this week for the Heroes & Outlaws show at City Arts Center... I say it turned out great! and Chuck Norris, or at least his publicist, agreed; as they opted to purchase the piece. So that's awesome. Take a look at it in the gallery section, and mark your calenders for Nov. 17! This promises to be a great show!!
7.14.2006:
New images in the gallery... Upcoming Events section, as you can see above...
And in general I've been a slacker over the past month. I'm working on some murals with Palmer Studios over the next few weeks. And I need to get started on my Chuck Norris painting for the Heroes & Outlaws show in November.
5.19.2006:
The show in Pauls Valley went fantasically well! The show looked good, met some great people down in the Valley, sold lots, and ate some gummy bears! So if you're an artist looking for a great community to show in... try Pauls Valley. They'll treat ya right.
Oh, and look for some photos added of the Pauls Valley show when I get them...
5.2.2006:
New and improved artist statement with some final tweaks as to the look of website.
